Key Leadership Roles

Pack 1533 operates through dedicated volunteer leadership. Here’s an overview of the key roles that make the Pack run.

Cubmaster

The Cubmaster is the program leader who works directly with Cub Scouts and their families. The Cubmaster helps guide the other Pack 1533 leaders in their roles and serves as the program adviser to the Pack Committee.

Key responsibilities include planning and leading Pack events (Blue and Gold, Pinewood Derby, campouts), overseeing Den Leaders and coordinating activities, planning the annual program calendar, recruiting and training Den Leaders, mentoring Scouts and recognizing achievements, and working as a partner with the Committee Chair to ensure program success.

Committee Chair

The Committee Chair handles the operations and administration side of the Pack. The Committee Chair ensures the organizational infrastructure supports the program so other leaders can focus on working with Cubs.

Key responsibilities include leading Pack Committee meetings, overseeing Pack finances and fundraising, handling registration and membership records, ensuring leader training is completed, managing charter renewal and leader recruitment, handling advancement records and purchasing awards, addressing parent concerns, and ensuring Scouting America policies are followed.

Den Leaders

Den Leaders are the heart of the Cub Scout program, conducting meetings for smaller groups of Scouts and guiding them through their advancement.

Den Leader responsibilities include completing required training and background checks, planning and running once-per-month den meetings, serving as the primary contact for den families, coordinating with parents for assistance, and leveraging Pack leadership support and online resources.
