Mantua Tradition
For over 50 years, Pack 1533 has had a Cub Scout program focused on fun and educational experiences concerned with values. Besides providing a positive place where children can enjoy safe, good-clean-fun activities, Cub Scouting focuses on building character, improving physical fitness, teaching practical skills, and developing a spirit of community service. Pack 1533 has been associated with the Mantua PTA since 1967.
Boys and girls
We have always been a very family friendly pack. This year girls are going to be allowed to form their own dens and follow the same curriculum as the boys to achieve the same rank achievements.
All ages, in dens
We have one or more dens at each age group, K-5. A den is a small group of boys or girls. The ranks are as follows:
- Kindergarden-Lions
- 1st Grade-Tigers
- 2nd Grade- Wolves
- 3rd Grade-Bears
- 4th Grade-Webolos
- 5th Grade-Arrow of Light (Webelos Year 2) at which time, the boys transition to a Boy Scout pack, Venturing crew, or one of the other scouting programs for older scouts, usually around March of their 5th grade year.
All ages, full pack
The pack (all of the dens) meet together for meetings, camping, events and other activities. This is a great opportunity for older scouts to mentor younger scouts and for younger scouts to find great role models in the older scouts.
